What a wonderful Easter Day this has been. Yesterday we went over to my parent's house. It was my mom's birthday...as well as their church was having an Easter Egg Hunt and Lunch. My granddad was also there. That was great. We had a wonderful time. Here are some pictures of the day.

We came back to mom and dad's house after lunch at the church and the kids enjoyed golfcart rides and wii games and naps, while mom prepared (with me helping) a fabulous meal of pork roast, rice and black beans, layered salad, rolls, pretzel strawberry salad (dessert really!). Supper was awesome. Then the kids opened their easter baskets...sugar galore! Came back home very late after a slight delay and miracle of mom letting us borrow her car...cause our van wouldn't start.
This morning, worship with the church was wonderful! What an amazing Savior and King we serve!!! After a much needed nap, we headed over to a friend's house from church for an easter egg hunt/ movie night.
I have never heard of this movie before, but it was great! It is called "The Miracle Maker" and it's a claymation/animated movie about Jesus' life told through a new perspective, well...one I have never seen anyway. The Life of Christ in the eyes of Jairus' daughter. and the family seeking help for her. When they cross paths with an extraordinary carpenter named Jesus, the family's faith is put to the test as the father is torn between allegiance to the king and the desperate need for the miraculous powers of God. The use of 3-D and 2-D animation was very creative. The 2-D animation was used for flashbacks or when Jesus was telling stories (such as the parables) which gave a realness to the 3-D characters. It was amazing how historically and Biblically accurate it was. Adults and kids both liked it!

After the movie was over, we stayed and let the kids play some more, while the men played a game of basketball and the women just enjoyed talking. It was a great night of fellowship and fun. I love my church family! Happy Easter everybody.
