Dear sweet Kathryn, My heart aches for your sadness, and unrest. I am praying for you and the family, and asking God to hold you in his arms, daily. This road you travel is one that He sees, knows, and promises that He will be with you, and hold you in his arms, he is a strong and mighty tower that the righteous run to and are safe, he gathers you under his wings to comfort you and keep you safe. If I could take this burden from you I surely would, my heart breaks at your sorrow, and broken heart. Dont loose hope. Continue to give him your burdens. Continue to surround yourself with friends to support you. Let me and dad be arms to hold you up. I am most blessed to have a sweet daughter , who loves the lord, and strives to seek him. Stay strong, courageous, do not let this overwhelm you, remember that he calmed the storm, he sees your needs , he is beside you, and will see you through this storm. Pick yourself up by your own boot straps. Stop believing in crap from "religious" people. Really, just enjoy life. Not just your little world. Get out and get to know life. Humans are not the only living creatures here, but sure seems like it when you have religion being shoved down your throat, like you do. Focus on real world education and stop with all the biblical references. I bet that's why your man left you. Free yourself of all your thoughts. Stop! I just came across your blog because of the cute laptop idea. Geez! Try reading "Finding your own north star" Don't stop until you finish it. I suggest that become your new bible.

I think about Joseph a lot, what pain and torment he went through at the hands of family, then the unfairness of prison. The YEARS of being seemingly forsaken. This is a comment more on your last post than this one. I was wondering if you have ever read this blog.

I thought it was good. I am kind of jaded at Christmas time. I go back and forth wondering why people make such a huge deal over Christmas and not a huge deal the other 364 days a year. I like how we have easter and Christmas to reflect on the birth and resurrection of Christ, to get christians to really dwell on the idea of the incarnate word. But, if we aren't doing the giving and sacrificing and taking care of the widows and orphans on the months and days that don't fall in December I don't really think it matters much if we keep Christ in Christmas because our kids see through that too. So I have done what you have done a lot. Who am I listening to? Am I not radical enough at Christmas? I don't like how we spend so much money for gifts, but I enjoy the tradition. We try to balance giving and recieving, we try not to focus on Santa. But, I haven't gotten to Ann Vonskamp yet, she is amazing. She has a new book coming out that I read the first chapter to and it made me cry.

I think I tend to line up with the theology of How the grinch stole Christmas:
Every who down in Whoville, the tall and the small, Was Singing!
Without any presents at all! He HADN'T stopped Christmas from coming!
IT CAME! Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And the Grinch, with his grinch feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so? It came without ribbons! It came without tags! It came without packages boxes or bags!"
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't thought of before!
"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas....perhaps....means a little but more!"

And what happened then....? Well....in Who-ville they say That the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day!

My favorite memory is when we went roller skating. The boys wanted to go (school related) and were surprized to see mom and dad skating around with ease... they had no idea we could skate, and were quite annoyed at first that we could... it was a great night out.
